Weekly Mileage-43.jpg

Happy Sunday!  How is it that another week went by?  Hard to believe that it is already the last week of January.

This week was all about getting back to running.  Ha, it wasn’t easy.  I’ve mentioned how well I’ve been sleeping and waking up in the morning hasn’t been easy for me.  Yes, I could go after school, but sometimes I am either tired, have a meeting, or running errands and seriously running is the last thing I want to do.  I know, excuses.  Also, left knee still does not feel 100% better.

MONDAY: 45 MINUTES PELOTON
Cody is the man!  I love him!  The music was all 80s pop which is fantastic and makes the time go by faster.

WEDNESDAY:  1.22 MILES
I went to Blink after school.  It is about 1/2 mile from my house so it is perfect.  It was going well until I got some discomfort in my left knee.  It doesn’t hurt throughout the day so I am not sure what is going on.

THURSDAY: 2.00 MILES
Went in the morning before work.  Goal was to run longer than the day before.  Took a few walking breaks and felt good too.  We got more snow too!

SUNDAY: 3.23 MILES
Went to Planet Fitness today.  The treadmills there are the ones that also have a scale.  So weird.  I alternated between 4.5 and 5.0 on the treadmill while running 3 and 4 minutes.  Felt good and overall was pleased with my run.

I know I should be happy that I have access to a treadmill at the gym, but I hate having to haul my stuff to shower and get ready there to go to work.  I want to be able to get up, change, drink some coffee, and start my run.  Many times I wished I had one at home but realistically I have no room for it.  My sister told me that I can move the sofa to make room for it, but I live on the 2nd floor and the constant pounding will be a major headache.  I used to live on the 3rd floor in a condo and I had a treadmill for about a week.  Every time I would run, it seems like everything there was shaking.  I am sure the building shook too!  I took it back.  For sure adding that to my list of things to buy when I move.

How was your week?

36 Comments on Weekly Run Down: Treadmill running and I want to buy a treadmill

  1. Good for you for getting back to running! I understand that you don’t want to have the pounding in the condo. Another incentive to move! 😄👍🏻

  2. Congrats on getting back to running! It took me a long time to commit to buying a treadmill and it’s one of the best things I ever bought. But with that said, I also didn’t get one until I had a house and it would not have worked in any of my apartments. It would definitely be the perfect housewarming present to give yourself when you buy a house.

  3. Well, about the treadmill…I’m thankful I have one at the ready, but that doesn’t mean I jump on it every time a run enters my mind LOL But that’s just me, and I will do almost anything to avoid the ‘mill. For many others, though, the treadmill is their best friend. I’m glad to hear you’re getting better sleep!

  4. Glad to see you’re easing back into running. I have a treadmill and I’m glad I do, but I don’t like to run on it unless I have to. I like to be outside.

  5. That would be interesting to have a treadmill on an upper floor. Ours is in the basement, so a solid concrete floor. I agree with you – the convenience is awesome. I am one of those people that just roll out of bed and am on my treadmill 15 mins later when I run before work. I don’t have to think about it – and get to wear hardly any clothes! I was just thinking that maybe I need to swap out some running days with elliptical, but that would mean an early trip to the gym. My gym is only 8 mins away… and I think that’s maybe too much work in the early morning!! 🙂 I’m glad you are on the mend.

    • My gym is 1/2 mile away so it isn’t far but it is the hassle of packing up my clothes and everything I need for my run and for work. I double check it to make sure I don’t forget anything.

  6. Yay for getting back to running. I would love to have a treadmill at home, but I love going to the gym because I see some of my gym buddies and that gets me out the door in the morning. Not sure if I would be so disciplined if I had a treadmill at home 😉 although it would be quite convenient.

  7. Glad you’re up and running again. I get the desire for a treadmill at home. It’s a pain to go to the gym but we can do whatever we’re in the habit of doing. The pounding/shaking in a condo would be annoying.

  8. Yay! You are running again and that’s a very good thing! I don’t have a treadmill at my house. If I want (have) to run on the treadmill I have to go to the gym. I like running at the gym – more stuff to look at to keep me interested – but if the weather is bad, which is why I would run on the treadmill to start with, I might have trouble getting in to the gym.

  9. Having a treadmill in my basement is SO convenient. I love it so much. But you almost need to have a basement for it to really make sense. Be glad you have a close gym! I did that for probably 10 years of marathon training… It’s not the worst. You can meet people at the gym!

Glad you’re easing back into running! Are you going to still go to Atlanta?

  10. So happy you managed to run this week! I know that couldn’t have been easy. I had some knee dramas a couple of weeks ago and tried a HASFit Tribe youtube “knee exercises” workout. It’s about 15/17 minutes and made such a difference. My knee feels fine now but have decided to add it as part of my stretching routine especially after my long runs.

  11. Glad you were able to get in some runs this week! Thats too bad that you cant get a treadmill because of where you live. But you’re right, at least you have the option of a gym treadmill even if its not ideal.

  12. Your face looks so much better!

You want a treadmill, and I want a Peloton LOL! I have access to a mill at our neighborhood gym, but again, I have to get there, and since I still can’t drive and am not cleared for “exercise walking”, the mile stroll isn’t ideal. Blah.

  13. I don’t think I could live without a treadmill in my home! Or a washing machine & dryer, either. I guess I’m spoiled! I still try to get most of my runs done outside, but I don’t mind the treadmill occasionally.

  14. So glad you’re getting back to running. I won a treadmill last fall in an IG giveaway if you can believe and I have to say now that I’m totally spoiled by it. I still prefer running outside, but it’s a great backup to have available.
