Hey everyone!  I almost did not write this post because I was a little down this week.  Honestly, I think this was the worst week for me since I’ve been home.  I didn’t want to do anything but just stay in my pajamas.

No running for me this week.  I know no one really likes to talk about the weather (here in the Midwest it changes every single day) but last week was just bad for me.  I think it was sunny maybe one or two days?  It is weird how a few years ago I ran a lot outside during the Winter when I was training for the Illinois Marathon.  I ran in the snow and in freezing weather.  That is when I learned so much about the proper gear for Winter training.  Now if it is in the 30s then I want to stay inside.

Most of you know I am an introvert.  I was loving it the first couple of weeks.  Now?  I am bored and tired of staying at home.  I know I shouldn’t complain because I know staying home is the best thing to do right now.  I am grateful that no one in my family is sick.  At least now it will be warmer to enjoy some time in the balcony.  OK, rant over.  Moving on.  🙂

Has anyone watched “Unorthodox”?  Wow!  I want to see more.  I mean I want to know what happens to her and what she is going to do.

I did 2 Peloton workouts.  You know it was with Cody!  I think I would freak out if I ever meet him in person.

Monday was the beginning of a new work routine for me.  Before I was available 2 hours per day for the students and to collaborate with my coworkers.  Of course I was putting in more hours planning lessons, uploading, etc.  Now our work day is from 8am-2pm.  I have office hours from 9-10 am and 1-2 pm and am available for my students from 10 am-1 pm.  Oh and I get one hour for lunch.  🙂  I take my lunch hour in the morning so I can start at 9am.  I mean where exactly am I going to go for lunch anyway?

On Friday the Governor announced that classes were cancelled for the rest of the year.  I had a feeling that was going to happen but it is a different feeling when an official announcement is made.  I was sad because I miss my students.  I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to them.  I am sad for my students because I know they are bored and tired and would rather be at school than all day at home.  It will be very interesting how things will be the next couple of months.  I am assuming summer school will be cancelled.  I wonder when and if we’ll get a chance to go pack up the stuff in our classroom or if we will leave it the way it is till the Fall?

On Saturday I did my first Zoom meetup with my blogger friends.  I got the time zone mixed up and joined in late.  🙂  It felt good listening to them.  I enjoyed the adult conversation with different people.  Plus it was great “meeting” them even if it was via computer.

And a photo of my babies.  They fight (Mateo is the instigator) but sometimes they do get along.

How was your week?  I hope it was more exciting than mine.

Linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down.

24 Comments on Weekly Run Down: Not sure what happened and I need to get out

  1. Looks like you had a tough week. I think everybody gets the lockdown blues at some point. And it feels good to vent! 😊
I haven’t seen Unorthodox yet – it’s definitely on my list. Right now I’m stuck with ’Dirty John’…

  2. Our schools are officially closed as well, since Friday. I really worry about the elementary aged kids…won’t they really be behind come fall? I know there’s usually so much catch-up in the first couple months after summer, but this year it’s going to be an even bigger burden on the teachers. Ugh, I SO feel for you!! It was nice seeing you on Saturday 😉

    • I thought about that too. By the time we start again in August, the kids would have been home 5 months. That worries me because I know most of the kids will not do much or anything in those months.

  3. Running will be there when you want it, the only reasons to run are if you want to or if someone is chasing you;-) I loved Unorthodox and just started listening to the book on Audible. Dirty John that Catrina mentioned is another really good show, it was also a podcast.

    • Haha, someone chasing me for sure. 🙂 I finished “Dirty John” and couldn’t stop watching it. I wanted to order the book from Amazon for “Unorthodox” but it isn’t available.

  4. Pajama days and weeks are ok. We are all here for you. Take the time you need to mourn all of this. We are all suffering from a trauma and it’s going to take time to recover. I’m so glad you joined us on Saturday. It was so good to see you.

Unorthodox was amazing. I hate that it’s over, but I was satisfied with the ending. What a powerful show.

    • Thank you! Hugs to you. 🙂 I like the ending but want to know more. I mean, did she get the scholarship? Is she staying with her mom? I would guess “yes” to both questions but still want to see it. Did you see the episode on how it was filmed? Everyone did a great job!

  5. It was nice to see you on Saturday. I think we all have good weeks and bad weeks w this whole thing. Hang in there! I hope you get to meet Cody one day. I had a blast visiting the NYC studio

  6. Sounds like it’s been a tough week for a lot of us. The weather was a huge factor for me and running in the snow is tolerable in January and February. In April? Not so much. Just keep moving. It really helps!

    • Thanks, Wendy. You deal better with it than I do. I stayed home all week and did pretty much nothing and you did much more than me. 🙂 I know, no comparison, right? This week is better. At least it is warming up.

  7. I was a little down this week too. So glad to read I am not the only one. Classes are canceled here for the rest of the year too. Hope you can get out to run next week. Maybe it will make you feel better!

  8. I loved staying home and having everyone home in the first weeks. Now I’m over it and ready to get back to normal. I totally get the need to stay home but I hate what it’s doing to the economy too. Here’s to a better week!

  9. I’m also an introvert but I’m over staying at home. I miss getting dressed and going to work. I also miss the silly things like just browsing the aisles of the supermarket or TJMAXX, lol.

It was nice to see you on Zoom on Saturday!

    • I know what you mean. Sometimes I just want to go to Target just because to get out of the house. 🙂 I miss my routine of waking up, running, getting ready, and going to work.

  10. Sorry to hear you had a rough week…I feel ya, some days are okay, some days are a challenge, and I’m an introvert as well.

I need to watch Unorthodox! It’s definitely on my list!

    • My friends laugh at me because staying at home is nothing new to me. But I told them that now I am over it and want to get out and see people. Yes, watch Unorthodox!!! We can discuss it too if you want.

  11. I’m sorry you had such a tough week, but I’m happy that you were able to end the week on a happy note with our Zoom meet-up. I hope this week is going much better!

Thank you for your comment!
