Weekly Mileage-59

Ran 4 days for a total of 13.64 miles and did 1 virtual race for the Uncanceled Project.  These past few weeks I’ve had some great run but this week they were OK.  Still, it is better than no miles.  🙂

This week was about staying home and decluttering.  I cleaned the pantry and took out so much stuff.  Baking pans?  I had a Bundt cake pan.  I don’t remember the last time I baked and don’t think I will.  Time to get rid of all of it.

I had some good runs on Monday and Tuesday.  On Thursday I had to run 5 miles using a run/walk method (3 minutes/90 seconds).  I procrastinated and then decided to run Friday morning.  At the last minute I told myself “Why wait?  Just go.” and I did.  However, it did not go well.  There was a school issue that was bothering me.  I sent a text to a coworker and then that ended up with several other text messages with another coworker.  No matter what I did, I couldn’t shake it off and it kept bothering me.  I decided to go home.  I honestly thought I was about to get fired or moved to another school.  I had anxiety for two days.  The email system was down on Friday so you can imagine my anxiety level that day (I thought it was the first step in letting me go.  Now I know how ridiculous that sounds).  I hate being vague but right now I cannot say more as I don’t want to get in trouble if I provide specific details.

Earlier that day I went to school to pick up a few things that I need for Summer School.  I was there for 40 minutes and it was sad to walk in my room.  It looks just how I left it on Friday, March 13.  🙁

I almost skipped Sunday’s race.  The weather was perfect but I was still not up for running.  What got me out the door was Deborah’s RunBet Challenge and the California Coast 500 Virtual Challenge.  Ran 3 miles and then walked the rest home for a total of 3.57 miles.  Total miles for the challenge is 13.64 and have 236.36 miles to go.

Saw this by my house and it made me laugh!  I guess he had a rough night!

You all know how much I love my Brooks shoes.  Did you see these?  Aren’t they adorable?

Tomorrow is the first day of Summer School.  I am almost ready.  I spent a few days working on lesson plans and assignments.  Wish me luck!

24 Comments on Weekly Run Down: Not all runs are great and back to work

  1. Oh, Zenaida, I’m so sorry! I can’t even imagine the anxiety you experienced, so happy it went well in the end. All the best for summer school!

  2. Oh work drama! No need to go into the specifics, we’ve all got some version of it. I had to stop by my office in person a few weeks ago and it was bizarre to see all of the desk calendars still on March. Good luck tomorrow for the start of summer school!

  3. Good luck with summer school and I hope all goes well with the other issues you mentioned. I still have my bundt pan that I purchased in 1982, but as soon as I get rid of it, I will wish I’d kept it. LOL

  4. I have a bundt pan, too…not sure when I last used it, though.I think I made a yummy pound cake one time. Hope the school stress has mellowed for you. Good luck with summer school!

  5. Really sorry to hear about the anxiety about the school issue. I do hope that everything works out.

I spent some time de-cluttering my kitchen over this quarantine time and got rid of so much junk – it felt very freeing!

  6. Oh, that sounds like SUCH a stressful week — I’m so sorry. Sounds as if it’s resolved? I hope so!

I’ve been having a lot of meh running weeks without all that going on — I feel for you. Better days are coming!

My husband just told me in a town near us gnomes are mysteriously appearing. I don’t want a gnome! Although maybe it would make me smile. Here’s to a better week and hopefully a great start to summer school.

    • Thanks, Judy. Right now there isn’t much I can do about it but wait till we go back to school. Maybe it won’t be an issue anymore.

I rarely see gnomes around here so when I saw that one it made me laugh.

  7. I’ve been there for sure with the work anxiety. (Like the time I accidentally deleted a bunch of important data out of a database. Uggggggh) So sorry you were worried! I bet that was weird going back to your class 🙁 I thought the stores would all be frozen in time with sweaters for sale when they reopened!
I have a Bundt pan too. I’m hanging on to it… but yeah, barely ever use it!

  8. Doesn’t decluttering feel good? I love paring my stuff down to manageable levels.

Sorry to hear about the conflict at school. I hope you are past that now. Wow! Summer school starts tomorrow? Friday was our teachers’ last day.

  9. Sorry about the work issues! I hope they get cleared up, especially before summer school starts. Our last day of regular school isn’t until this Friday.

  10. I hope everything is ok with work! anxiety is the worst especially when you feel you are waiting to hear news about something.

I also have good and not so great runs but yes we get out the door and that’s what counts!!

we are decluttering too! I finally got rid of stuff that I brought with me when I moved in with Ron 15 years ago. I had a panic attack right after I dropped a couple of boxes off at a thrift store but it was over within a few minutes.
