It’s the last Friday of the month which means Marcia has opened the Runfessional!  It’s also time for another edition of Fit Five Friday hosted by DarleneRenéeJenn, Michelle, and me!  Let’s get started, shall we?!

 I runfess…
That I am a sucker for Teachers pay Teachers (TpT).  It is a place where I can purchase (some are free too) resources created by other teachers that are ready to use in the classroom.  The best thing is that I’ve been able to find great resources in Spanish!  There is a giveaway going on right now for 5 gift cards of $250 each and you bet I entered.  There are quite a few teachers that organized this giveaway and in total my entries came to 132.  Wow, I have never entered a Rafflecopter giveaway with that many entries.  It took me about 45 minutes because I had to check Instagram, Facebook, TpT, and blog posts to submit my entries.  Crossing my fingers I win!

 I runfess…
That I get really annoyed and irritated when people (mostly men) stare at me while I am out running.  Sometimes I ignore them but lately I stop and also stare at them and raise my shoulders and hands like saying “What?  What are you looking at?”  Most of the time they turn away and I continue on my run.

I runfess…
That I am a teeny tiny bit excited about going back to school.  Please remind me saying this when I am complaining about it during the school year.  I am not so much excited about the politics, BS, and some of the work but am looking forward to being again in a classroom with students.  As much as I am enjoying my time off, I want to start setting up my classroom because I know it will take me a long time to get it ready.

I runfess
That while I am happy and proud of myself for doing a run streak this long, I don’t think I will continue once I get to one year.  I started it because I asked myself “Why not”?  I wanted to see if I could do it.  Plus I was inspired by others doing one too.  Running in the morning is one thing I look forward to and let’t not forget how it has been these past months.  While I enjoy running, I feel that running everyday is in the way of me doing other activities (cross training and strength).  Or maybe it is me and I don’t know how to schedule all of my activities to get them done?

I runfess…
That I order many things from Amazon.  I like the flexibility and convenience.  I love that I can get many items in 2 days and can return them for free if I don’t like them.  The other day I ordered a small whiteboard for my classwork.  What I failed to notice is just exactly how small it is.  I laughed when I saw the box and wondered what the heck I would use it for.   I decided to return it but then noticed on the website that the item is nonreturnable.  Oh well.  I am sure I could use it for something in the classroom.  Oh and next time I will pay closer attention to see if items are returnable.

  1. I guess one benefit of running so early is that there is no one around. Plus, I’d assume anyone is looking at Scooby!

That sounds like a great website with good resources.

My husband is an Amazon addict. I’m always reluctant to buy household goods because I think it’s a good price but then realize it’s a small size.

  2. maybe some time off from teaching was just what you needed to get excited about teaching again!

  3. Seriously, who doesn’t love Amazon? Except maybe the people who work there.

Good luck on setting up that classroom! Maybe the happiness of teaching in person will last longer than you think.

I seriously can’t even begin to imagine running every.single.day. To each their own!

  4. I am in awe of your streak. I could never do it.

But i get what you are saying. When I have free time is very limited, I go for a run. I am skipping the bike or a hike and classes. And I don’t streak.

I prefer to run on a bike path with other runners. In my neighborhood, people stare when I go by. I want sometimes yell What are you looking at? You try running!!

  5. I hope you win the giveaway! So fun. That’s awesome you are excited for back to school. My kids are too. I’m a little sad to see summer go. The year is flying, Ugh I can’t stand the way some men gawk when I’m out running.

    • There are times when I want to stop and ask them if they have daughters, sisters, or a wife. And if yes then would they like it if other men stare at them like idiots they way they are. 🙂

  6. Yes, I can see how the pressure to keep up a streak might stop being fun after a while. I can’t remember how close you are to a year- I’m thinking pretty close.
My daughter and my husband are not excited about school coming up! This summer was a short one- they only had seven weeks off. Teachers definitely need a break to recharge. Glad you’re feeling good about going back!

  7. Well, I don’t think I’ve been on Amazon since my biking streak (last Fall). I developed a small obsession with biking jerseys since I wasn’t able to run while my stress fracture healed. I do need to scope out some reputable biking shorts.. so that may be my next conquest 🙂

    • I need a cushioned seat for my Peloton. I have one but it is old and looks worn out. Now that I plan to run less, I want to spend more time on the bike. That is the reason I bought it and not to use it to air dry my clothes.

  8. You’ve done a great job with your streak! I know my body would rebel – I need those cross training days not to mention rest days.

It’s great that you’re looking forward to getting back into the classroom! I hope the politics and such are minimal. I hope you win that giveaway!!

Thank you for your comment!
