Happy Tuesday!  I am happy that this will be a short week – I am off on Friday!  So far things are going well with my students.  I have been playing music by Selena in the morning and they all seem to enjoy it.  However, I know one day they will probably tell me to play something different.

As you know I enjoy running in the morning.  I listen to music or just get lost in my own thoughts.  This time alone prepares me for the day.

Besides running I enjoy watching TV and reading.  Lately I’ve been watching too much TV and am ready to give that a break.  I became hooked on Chicago Med and finally am caught up thanks to Netflix, Peacock, and Hulu.  I also enjoy watching Chicago PD and Law and Order: Organized Crime.  I am not so crazy anymore about Greys Anatomy and am wondering when the show will end.  Most of the characters are annoying but I feel like I need to watch it till the end.  Anyone else is a fan?

Let’s talk about reading.  I love to read.  Now that I am caught up on my shows I will spend more time reading.  Thanks to Wendy’s reviews I have a long list of books to read.  I am actually excited about it!  I started my list from a review she did in August.  Yes, I have a long way to go.  Even though I plan to teach during the Summer, I will have plenty of time to read a few books.

Right now I am reading this book.  Anyone else has read it?

Topic for next week – Tips or benefits of running a marathon for charity?  Feel free to write about this or any running related topic.  We hope you’ll link up with us!

15 Comments on Tuesday Topics: Fun hobbies/activities besides running

  1. Reading and watching TV are things I enjoy too,
I have just discovered the Japanese series “Old Enough” on Netflix. It is the most heart-warming and sweet show I’ve seen in a long time.
It’s about toddlers going on errands on their own for the first time. Most are younger than 5 years old. The episodes are only 10 minutes long, so it not such a huge waste of time either.

  2. Due to my self massage activities, I’ve been listening to more music lately! I actually plan to blog about that lately.

You are lucky to have control of the artists. 🙂

I’m usually reading something related to Yoga, and then a fiction book before I go to bed. It seems easier as it gets warmer to take a reading break outside!

  3. Reading is my favorite non running activity.

I do minimally watch tv. Still hooked on this is us, the good doctor and greys anatomy.

I used to quilt and sometimes I knit.

  4. I haven’t read that book, but reading is probably my biggest non-running hobby. i also get almost all my book ideas from blogs (Wendy is an excellent source!). When i watch TV it’s usually the Food Network or home improvement shows. I haven’t gotten into a series in a long time. It’s definitely hard to watch a lot of TV AND read- there are only so many hours in a day.

    • There was a time when I was hooked on home improvement shows. I found it fascinating how work it required to fix up a home. Yes on your last point. I can do one or the other.

  5. I like reading but I need absolute silence to fully immerse myself in a book and it’s hard to do that sometimes at home. I am a HUGE Law and Order SVU fan and we made the hop over to Organized Crime because of Stabler! I love that you play music for your students. Selena is a legend!

  6. You probably know I’m an art geek, so I LOVE all things artsy (color, painting, drawing, decorating, knitting, fashion, etc.). I don’t watch much TV, in general, but I love NCAA football and basketball, so I’m almost at a loss on what to “watch” right now with the BB tournament all done. Netflix keeps me entertained, at times, but only late at night before bed.

  7. I understand what you mean about TV. Over the past few years I find myself watching less and less TV, although I do like to watch movies and documentaries on Netflix.
