Today is my last week of school!  I have plans to go out for drinks with my coworkers.  Time to cross off some drinks from the martini list.  I am still planning to teach Summer School but still do not know the curriculum or when I am supposed to go set up.  🤦🏽‍♀️ 🤦🏽‍♀️ Bitmoji ImageI am planning to enjoy my Summer Break and hopefully check off a few things off this list.

☀️ Declutter and organize.  I did a big one two years ago but need to do it again.  It will make packing so much easier when it is time to move.  Packing up my classroom gave me anxiety and I could not believe how much stuff I had after being in the same school for 13 years.

☀️ Not get sick/Covid.  I got sick a few weeks ago (cold and fever) but not Covid.  I am debating on whether or not to get my 2nd booster shot.  My mother keeps asking when I will take her for her booster shot.

☀️ Take a mini vacation.  I am overdue for it.  I’d rather not fly AA but remember I still have those credits.  What I would also love to do is be a tourist in Chicago.  I want to stay in a hotel downtown and do touristy things.  Have you done that before?

bon voyage

☀️ Continue to use the Peloton bike.  I am way overdue here.  One of my goals this year is to do 300 Peloton rides.  I’ve taken 266 leaving me with 34 more to go.  Doable, right?

☀️ Be consistent with running.  Summer is not my favorite for running but that is when the bulk of training takes place for a Fall race.  I have decided to do the Chicago Lakefront 50/50 on Saturday, October 29.  These past few weeks have been like a roller coaster because I have good days of running and then days when I am too tired to run.  But now just knowing the date makes it official and more exciting!

Topic for next week – What are your Summer fitness goals?  Feel free to write about this or any running related topic.  We hope you’ll link up with us!

  1. Oh, congrats on signing up for the ultra in October! That’s so exciting, Zenaida.
This will be a great motivation to keep up the running routine, even when the weather isn’t ideal.
Enjoy the martinis and your summer break!

  2. Totally doable to get to your Peloton ride goal! I know you’ll do that.

Having a date for a race is very exciting & motivating — I was just considering the same date (different state). Not sure I can sell my husband on it but we’ll see.

Being a tourist in your own town is so much fun — well, at least I can see it being really fun in Chicago, LOL! We once stayed at a Residence Inn just a few miles from our home in VT. It was really nice! And it was just to relax.

  3. i have credits on AA too but am not sure how or when I’m going to use them. I think it would be really fun for you to stay in a nice hotel in the city and be a tourist- there’s definitely lots to do in Chicago!
I’m excited that you’ve picked a 50k- I’m looking forward to hearing about the training! I hope you have lots of good weather for it this summer.

  4. It can be fun to be a tourist in your own city! Hope y9u have the chance to check off a few of your bucket list items

  5. i like your bucket list items for the Summer. Decluttering and organizing is always such a pain in the butt while you’re doing it, but the end result is always worth it!

I had some Amtrak credits that were expiring so i am using those for my trip to Boston this month.

    • Yes it is! We just tend to collect so much stuff. Can you believe i’ve never been on an Amtrak train? There was never a need for it. Now I am curious.

  6. I’m just trying not to die during summer running! It’s really not my favorite. But I keep signing up for races in the fall that are marathon distance so I always end up doing summer long runs. shrug and sigh Looks like you are in the same boat with the 50/50 race that sounds exciting!
