It’s my first time participating in the Ultimate Coffee Date.  Just like Runfessions, I plan to participate on a regular basis.  Thanks Coco and Deborah for the linkup!

So grab your favorite hot drink and let’s chat.

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that in Sunday’s post I mentioned that I had too many emails and deleted all of them from my inbox (I use Gmail).  It was driving me crazy.  I didn’t know this but my coach showed me a way to create folders and move the emails into specific folders.  I was so happy and could not stop smiling all day.  It is the little things that make me happy!

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that I went ahead and scheduled an earlier appointment to get the vaccine.  I was supposed to get it on Monday with my mother but an opportunity became available through my school district.  I am still going on Monday to take her and I know that one spot will be available for someone else that needs it.  My arm did not hurt that much.  I took a Tylenol in the evening because I felt cold (like I was getting a fever).  I felt fine the rest of the day.

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell that I am LOVING Schitt’s Creek.  It is one of the funniest show I’ve ever watched.  I love that they’re short episodes.  It feels so good to come home after a long day at work to laugh and laugh some more.  Obviously they’re a weird and goofy family.  I think my favorite episode is when David serenades/performs (?) for his boyfriend, Patrick.  This gif is really funny too.

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you my youngest nephew (my little baby) is a senior in high school and recently enlisted in the Marines.  He turned 18 in August so obviously is not a baby.  But to me he will always be.  Anyway, while I am happy for him, deep down inside I am also worried.  I cannot imagine what his mother is feeling too.  I am sure she is happy too, but he is her only son.

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that I hope this month goes by quickly.  With the wacky weather here, I have a feeling February will be the same.  I am really tired of the snow.  With March in the picture, it will be that much closer to Spring Break.  Travel plans are still up in the air.  I have my ticket and will be fully vaccinated by the travel date.  Oh, and I will mail in my application today to renew my passport and hope I get it in time.  Now I am rambling so I will stop.

  1. Glad you got the vaccine and your mom can get hers soon too! Have you started teaching in person yet? I’ve heard things are kind of crazy in Chicago but I’m not sure if that’s where you teach.

    • I’ve been back in the classroom since January 11. Still no kids. Yesterday we got another email that the hybrid schedule will be delayed again. I doubt students will go back at all this year. I don’t teach in Chicago (I am in the town next to it) but I think the situation is worse there.

  2. Yay to getting the vaccine! See, it wasn’t so bad, right? It’s such a relief to have gotten it.

We loved Schitt’s Creek too! Hilarious and I was sad when we finished the series.

  3. Yes, Schitts Creek was an awesome show! I want David for a brother…I think 🙂

    • Yes it is my first one. 🙂 I mailed my application for my passport today. I was told it would take 5 weeks. Hopefully I get it on time. I need to find out what the protocol is for going back to school as well. I maybe not even be “allowed” to go.

  4. Glad you got the vaccine and that your mom will get it soon too. It’ll be months before I am eligible for it. I’m not holding my breath with the way things are going in IL. Remind me where you’re going on vacay?

    • My plan is to go to Mexico. I hope I get my passport in time for it. Also, I need to find out what the protocol will be when I come back. Will I even be allowed to go back to my classroom?

  5. Where are you planning to go for Spring Break? Mexico?

My mom is supposed to be vaccinated this week but I haven’t talked to her in a couple of days so I don’t know if that’s still on. I don’t anticipate that happening for months. Glad you didn’t have much of a reaction!

  6. So happy that you were able to get the vaccine earlier – that’s awesome!
I agree with you about Schitt’s Creek – the family is so odd but somehow it works and the show is so funny!

  7. Today was my first time joining the Ultimate Coffee Date linkup too. I plan to continue (here too), though life seems to intervene lately on my blogging plans.

I’m glad you got the vaccine! I was lucky to get it the other day even though I’m a couple of years younger than the required age of 65 (in California). I had a sore arm (it’s still sore after 5 days!) and some flu symptoms the next day but overall not bad. I’m just happy to have it.

  8. I’m so glad you were able to get the vaaccine and your mom, too! My in-laws got theirs but not my mom yet (in Nevada). I’m last on the list so I’ll live vicariously through you on your March trip (fingers crossed!)

    • After I got to school I was thinking about the trip. I didn’t realize it then but I don’t know if the school will let me come back to the building after being out of the country. I am wondering if they will need me to quarantine. Maybe I should plan my trip once I am out of school.

  9. Good for you for getting your vaccine! It will be a long time before I am eligible, but I will definitely get one as soon as I can. I hope your spring break plans work out. Maybe by then, we will be getting back to something approaching normal. I am hoping to go out to Colorado to visit my grandson the and of April.

  10. Yay for getting the vaccine! And it’s great that your mom will get hers on Monday. I’m still trying to help my parents get things sorted out here – Massachusetts has been a cluster!

I hope everything works out for your March trip!

    • Thanks, Michelle. Ugh, it is so frustrating that many states are not on top of this and many people that qualify cannot get it. Hopefully soon they’ll get theirs.

  11. I really need to do something about my email box ! good idea with the folders!

glad you were able to get the vaccine. we’ve no idea when we are getting ours. it’s kind of a sh*tshow here in NL. Well in Europe in general. a mess.

where are you planning on traveling?

I had to think about you the other day – I walked into our bathroom downstairs and found no less than 3 of the 4 cats all laying around on the floor in there! one in the shower area!

  12. I renewed my passport in December and hope that I get to use it relatively soon; although, no international trips are on tap for us.

It’s great that you got your first vaccination! I hope you can get back in the classroom with your students soon.

    We love Schitt’s Creek!

  13. Yay for the vaccine! I hope your travel plans go smoothly!

I love Schitt’s Creek so much! I cry when David serenades Patrick. I had so many emotions for every episode and I hate that I’ve seen the entire series.

You know, as the mom to one son, it’s a weird mix of feelings. A said something about joining the military because it’s a great way to go to college. On the one hand, I am so proud that he would consider serving his country. On the other, I would be so sick to my stomach with worry and fear. I wish your nephew the best, and please thank him for his service.

    • Wasn’t that a great episode?!? I also loved the one where the 4 of them end up at a barn and they were there dancing. I think it was the day of Johnny and Moira’s wedding anniversary. I just remember them looking so happy and having a great time. Thank you for the kind words about my nephew.

  14. Oh, where are you going? Your post reminded me I need to renew my passport — although I don’t have any plans to use it.

    Love the “Fauci Ouchie” badge!

  15. Your comment about having to renew your passport just saved my life!! Mine expired last year October but if I do my ultramarathon in South Africa (in a month’s time) it means I’ll need to have it renewed asap! OMG! Thank you so much, I had completely forgotten that!!!!!

So glad you had an opportunity to get vaccinated! As yet, we still don’t have a roll-out plan for vaccines but their are rumours it will start in March with essential services.

  16. I reallyy need to organize/empty out my email inboxes, haha. I’m really glad that you were able to get a vaccine and that you’re feeling fine! I adore Schitt’s Creek too! <3 Such a heartwarming/hilarious series. 😀
