It’s the last Friday of the month which means Marcia has opened the Runfessional!  It’s also time for another edition of Fit Five Friday hosted by DarleneRenéeJenn, Michelle, and me!  Let’s get started, shall we?!

 I runfess…
That I am so glad this month is almost over.  It was long.  It was hectic.  So many emotions (happy, sad, angry, etc) and it wasn’t easy dealing with them.  I like starting a new month cause I feel like I am starting over with everything.  I am just tired of so many things.

That yesterday I got my assignment for Summer School.  I will be teaching 1st grade bilingual in the classroom with 13 students.  While I am happy I will have kids in the room, part of me is still nervous.  I haven’t had 13 students in a classroom in more than one year.  While I know it is necessary, I am not happy that I have to wear a mask while I teach.  I know I shouldn’t be complaining about the mask since I know doctors, nurses, and other workers have to wear them for long hours each day.  June 14th is the first day of Summer School and it is only for 4 weeks so I will still have a few weeks off this Summer.

I runfess…
Last week I was miserable because my AC was not working in the apartment.  Thankfully it was fixed a few days later and it felt wonderful to have it on these past few days when it was hot.  However, yesterday morning it was 55 degrees outside.  It felt like Fall.  It was wonderful and pleasant to run outside.  This morning it was raining with high winds and it felt cold so I turned on the heat.  I haven’t done my run yet but I am planning to wear tights and a jacket.  This weather is just so weird!

I runfess
That I am an ambassador for two companies but haven’t really done much for them.  I’ve been thinking about letting them know that I do not plan to continue as an ambassador.  I still use the products but do not post anything about them on social media.  What would you do?  Stay or leave?

I runfess…
That I find it so rude when people do not respond to emails.  I understand that everyone is busy.  I don’t get a lot of work emails but always make some time to respond to them.  I’ve written some emails to an assistant superintendent asking some questions and she never responded to them.  Someone else said the same thing.  I sent another email to another assistant superintendent and instead of her answering my question, she told me to ask my Principal.  Many times I feel like they think they are better than us and have no time for us.  And they wonder why sometimes we don’t like them?!

I just realized that none of these are running related.  😀 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks again for listening to me!

  1. I love that classroom learning is happening again. I hope it goes well.

I just got my AC fixed in my car. And today I need the best lol.

I get it about being an Ambassador. I’ve been pretty lax too. I better get back to hashtagging then on IG.

  2. Cheers to the end of school! I hope the class size ends up working out for you. We are officially finished here although my rising sophomore will take a summer school course starting in a couple of weeks. That is very rude of your superintendent to ignore your emails.

  3. LOL on your non-running runfessions — I hadn’t even noticed. It’s good to get things off your chest! I try to answer emails promptly, but some slip through the cracks. Sometimes I forget to follow up on ones I’ve sent and still need an answer!

  4. It also bothers me when people don’t respond to Emails. Especially when I know they have time. Hopefully you will get some time to relax this summer even with teaching summer school!

    • I am glad summer school is 4 weeks and it will be from 8am-12:15pm. That means I still have the rest of the day to relax and take it easy. Once summer school is over I will have 6 weeks before the new school year. Still plenty of time to relax!

  5. People not responding to emails is one of my biggest pet peeves….especially when they always expect a quick response when they email you – it’s so rude!

  6. Your summer school schedule sounds very doable. I hope you have time for some relaxation this summer too. We are supposed to have a cool weekend this weekend too. Perfect running weather. I hope to get a long run in at some point. I hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend!

  7. Funny you mention the ambassadorships – I have one that I have not done much with this year and I’ve been debating what to do about it.

It’s good that Summer School is only 4 weeks so you’ll still get some down time. Do you think you’ll be able to get away for a bit?

  8. Hasn’t the weather been obnoxious??? We had the same cold weather in Iowa today. I’m glad it was a recovery day (of sorts), so I was able to keep it inside (except for a walk with the hubby and Max after work.

  9. I hear you on the mask thing. I’m so, so, so tired of wearing one at work. Sigh.
I had to laugh a little at the fact that you got your AC fixed and now you have the heat on. So crazy!

  10. You know sometimes you just need to get feelings out and it doesn’t have to be running related.

I have a good email irritation – my team also has a “help desk” where we have to pick up email requests and questions. We get the most annoying things sent to us, usually “See below” + an entire thread of mail in 3 different languages that I guess we are just supposed to understand and know what their question is. And then… let’s say we DO figure it out because our Crystal Ball was working that day, maybe we respond with some questions and THEY NEVER RESPOND. Ok. So… I guess that wasn’t really a problem for you in the first place??? The last one I had was just “I don’t know what it is!” and a screenshot of something. Um. OK… not the way to treat your colleagues if you ask me. SO annoying how people just think they are above you, better than you or that they can just treat you like sh*t for some reason.

    • I am guilty of writing “See below”. But that email conversation would annoy me as well. The thing that gets me is that many of the assistant superintendents were once classroom teachers like them. Now they think they’re above me? No, I will just ignore you then. 🙂

  11. I didn’t realize you were teaching summer school! Yes, I’m tired of masking too, but the other day I was at the vet with Cocoa and an unmasked man came in the foyer where I was waiting. It made me very nervous and I was glad i had my mask on.

    • I’ve been teaching summer school for a few years. I like it. New school, new students, new curriculum, new schedule. It is sort of a fresh start for me. It goes by quick!

Oh that incident would make me nervous too. I get nervous when someone is close to me and does not have their mask on correct. Dude, move away!

  12. The weather one was running related & it’s the same here! I ran in tights yesterday. I was shivering that first half mile, too! My friends are racing tomorrow and unfortunately it looks nasty, but I’m sure they’ll enjoy it.

I hear you on the masks. I can’t imagine having to wear it all the time and it definitely makes me break out just the small amount of time I have to wear it.

Don’t worry, the heat is coming back. 🙁

  13. I’m a nurse so I have to wear a mask but like you I am so over it. Good luck with your class, remember very few children get Covid and when they do it’s usually mild.
I don’t really understand ambassadorships. I was an ambassador for InknBurn but I didn’t do much. It seems like free advertising for the company. Am I misunderstanding it?

  14. The chilly 55F weather is nice. I can’t do 85F yet lol. There will be a time for it but not now. On the other hand, I did use the recent heat wave as an excuse to eat lots of icecream!

  15. Ambassadorships are tricky. If you use the product and you don’t have a punch list of specific goals you have to fulfill, I say ride it out. It’s been a hard year for everyone, and I think our partners are aware of those challenges too.

It’s going to be a huge change going back to a classroom, but if anyone can do it, it’s you. Masks will be optional in the classroom starting for summer here, and I see pros and cons of it.

    • You are right! I am going to make more of an effort with my ambassadorships. I do like the products and will continue using them.

So far they haven’t said anything about masks being optional. I just want to be able to take it off for a few seconds to “breathe”.

  16. Hopefully, your four weeks will fly by and the masks won’t be as annoying as you think. With that being said, we were in Florida for the last four days and I didn’t have to put on my mask from the time I left the airport until I returned to it this afternoon. It was so freeing to be able to shop, dine, etc. without it!
