I do wish I could tell you that I have signed up for a few races.  I have not.  I am still waiting for the weather to improve so I can resume running.  We are supposed to get more snow tomorrow.  🙄  One of my goals this year is to do 300 Peloton rides.  As of yesterday I am at 193 leaving me with 107 to go.  I thought about changing it to 400 but who knows how it will be once I start running again.  I know I won’t take a class everyday.

These are not exactly bucket list items but they’re a few things I want to get done or continue this Winter.

❄️  Continue to use the Peloton bike.  I know I’ve mentioned before that Camila is my favorite instructor.  I do prefer her Spanish classes than the English classes.  She has 85 classes and I’ve taken 35 leaving me with 50 more to go.  I cannot keep up with her!  Even if I take one of her classes per day I won’t be done till maybe May.  And then I also need to take into consideration her newer classes.  Why did I wait so long?

❄️  Look for another 50k.  I would like to do one in the Chicago area.

❄️  Train and run the Fargo Half Marathon.  OK, so this one isn’t technically in the Winter but training needs to start soon (the race is May 21).  I am not signing up yet because I don’t know what the situation will be like in May.  I thought airfare would be more expensive but it isn’t.  I checked on Sunday and it was $318 roundtrip.  But add in hotel, a rental car, and race registration and I am looking at least $500.  I guess I shouldn’t complain since I haven’t paid for any races, lodging, etc., in 2 years.  My last race was in Atlanta in 2020.

❄️ The last item is this 🏠.  I know you are all tired of hearing me talk about it so I won’t.

Topic for next week – Your six favorites of 2021.  Feel free to write about this or any running related topic.  We hope you’ll link up with us!

  1. I hope you will sign up for that Fargo Half Marathon, Zenaida. I find that it’s better to sign up than to wait for how “the situation will be”.
It gives you something to train for and can be very motivating. And the likelihood that the race will happen is high!

  2. No winter bucket list items here…you know I like to get outside in the winter and move, so that’s what I’ve been doing! I have a couple spring trail races on the calendar, and I plan to up my miles this month to get read for them.

  3. Good luck with your peleton bike goal. I need to get on my bike. Without peleton I have zero mojo.

Racecations are expensive. That’s why I’m limited to Florida where I have friends and NYC.

Hopefully the snow will melt and you’ll be back running outside. And racing.

  4. Well, I’m sure some are tired of hearing about my mom, but hey, it’s my life, my blog, and I’m going to write about what’s going on. Same thing about your house. Unfortunately it’s still such a horrible time to be house hunting! Good luck.

I think you’re safer with Fargo, that things will continue to settle down after Winter is over. But yeah, things do add up quickly (especially when there’s two of you).

  5. My own (uneducated) opinion is that you’ll be good to travel in May. Well, it’s a crapshoot but I think things will be improved. It would be fun to have Fargo as a goal!
Good luck house hunting… that’s a daunting but exciting goal! We’re not tired of hearing about it 🙂

  6. I hear the Fargo race is really great! When is your other 50K? Good luck with your Peloton goal. It is definitely doable!

    • I haven’t signed up for another 50k. The one I wanted to do is in March but I’ve stopped training because of the weather. I am pleased with my Peloton goal. Need less and 100. 🙂

  7. My “big” winter goal is to continue to get outside, everyday. It was wickedly cold and windy today. A friend and I tried walking during our afternoon break (thinking the sun would help), but we bailed after about 1/2-mile. I did layer up and walk 1.5 miles after I got home, but it wasn’t especially euphoric, LOL.

  8. I haven’t done a racecation in a while but I have a race in April that runs right by a campground that we have stayed at so we are going to camp that weekend too.
