It’s the last Friday of the month which means Marcia has opened the Runfessional!  It’s also time for another edition of Fit Five Friday hosted by DarleneRenéeJenn, Michelle, and me!  Let’s get started, shall we?!

No complaints about it being almost the end of February.  Let’s just say that this month was awful.  With the melting snow and the warmer weather, Spring is around the corner!  Oh, and Spring Break will be here soon too.

Now it is time for another edition of Runfessions.

I runfess
That the little things bothered me and made me cry.  My box of laundry detergent broke in the trunk and created a mess.  Then my two boxes of sparking water exploded in my trunk too.  Yep, in my new car.  Luckily I have wine.  Thank goodness I did not leave that in the car.

I runfess
That a few months ago I purchased an usual hat.  At that time I did not know it because I didn’t see a picture of that specific style. There were two options to choose from:  no ponytail hole and ponytail hole.  I picked the latter.
Imagine my surprise when I received it.  Thoughts?  I still think they’re cute but without the hole.

I runfess
That this month I did not do as much laundry as I usually do.  With my low mileage each day and week, there were times that I would wear the same pants/tops/jackets for days before putting in the laundry basket.  Bras and underwear I would wash by hand and air dry them.  I did not want to deal with hauling my clothes from the second floor to make a trip to the laundromat.  Even that bothered me.  Did wearing the same clothes gross me out?  No.  And this is the girl that has to shower and rinse her hair after every run.  🤦🏻‍♀️ 🤦🏻‍♀️

I runfess
That I’ve been spoiled by the companies that offer free shipping and return.  The other day I purchased something from Amazon and then had to return it because it didn’t work out for me.  I got annoyed that the company was charging me to return the items.  It wasn’t much but still it bothered me that I had to pay.  Oh well.

I runfess
I want to but then don’t want to run longer miles anymore.  Ha, I got used to running only 1 mile.  Yesterday I did a 20 minute Peloton run which came out to 1.57 miles.  It wasn’t easy.  But at least the snow is finally melting.  I notified my coach that I can start working with him again next week.  We’ll see what happens.

  1. I hear you on not wanting to run longer! It’s still cold out there, even if it’s warmer — if that makes sense (I’ll bet you understand).

So sorry about the mess in your car! Especially your new car. So frustrating. We had a couple of incidents in the house yesterday that were unexpected & required cleaning . . . well, what can you do?

Sometimes I’ll in my wool more than once, but otherwise — I’m a heavy sweater. Even in Winter! But I have been running more than a mile now — then I didn’t really break a sweat.

  2. I am with you an the want to/don’t want to run longer miles. I THINK I want to, then when it comes right down to it, I don’t. I hope when the weather warms up and the snow melts, our desire for running longer will come back.

That ponytail hole looks like it is made for one huge ponytail, right at the top of your head. Hmmm…very weird.

  3. Yes at least your wine did not break.

I understand the running mileage. I only do more because I have more time on weekends and I run with others…and very very slowly.

  4. I would have been upset too if that stuff had happened in my car 🙁

I often wear the same pants or tops if I haven’t really sweat. And… I actually will rinse my bike shorts and sometimes leggings when I go in the shower after a sweaty session! I don’t think it’s a big deal to wear the same stuff. Especially since I have to do everything alone or at home and the only person I could possibly offend is myself!

the hat is … interesting. what size ponytail did you indicate you have? haha!

I buy from a company here kind of like amazon (but without Jeff Bezos lining his pockets and treating his employees like shit) and paid for the special membership so I don’t have to pay for shipping… but makes me kind of lazy and I wonder if I pay too much for certain things!

  5. I’d be crying too if detergent and sparkling water got all over my new car! Noooo! That ponytail hole is shockingly large. The hats I have have a much smaller hole. That said, I’ve seen people wear those and they’re cute!

  6. I’ve also been enjoying shorter runs over the past few months. I think my longest run has been 6 miles. Eventually I’ll get back to half marathon training but for now I’m enjoying a good mix of OTF and Peloton for my runs.

    • I have not decided what to do yet. Maybe skip that and go straight to half marathon? Maybe by the time I am ready there will be a live race I can do. Definitely something to think about.

  7. I runfess that I shower and wash my hair after every run but I’m totally cool with “recycling” an outfit between washes. I have 4 pairs of leggings, I run 5-6 days a week and do laundry once a week so… I’d rather not rewear a sports bra but if it’s a choice between wearing a dirty one or not running at all, you know what choice I’m going to make.

    • I do not wear the same outfit because I sweat so much. But this month it wasn’t much so I had no problem doing it. We’ll see how it goes next month. I will be working with my coach again and plan to run more miles.

  8. Yay for the snow melting and spring coming soon! I am so used to free shipping and quick delivery times, it always feels weird when I order something that is going to take awhile to ship!

  9. Oh my gosh! I love that hat! I’ve been wearing my hair in a topknot lately, and I wish I had a hat that would allow for that!

I would have cried at the exploded LaCroix and detergent too! That’s a huge, annoying and sticky mess!

    • That hat would be perfect for you! It is so cute. I am thinking that during the week or next weekend I can clean out the trunk. The detergent is still there but I did toss the water.

  10. I would do way less laundry if I had to go to the laundromat!!! That hat is super cute in spite of the weirdly large hole. And yes… don’t keep wine in your car! That was a narrow escape, and should be a lesson to all.

    • I usually don’t mind going to the laundromat because I love how it smells. 🙂 But sometimes it is so annoying to haul down the dirty laundry (I love on the 2nd floor).

  11. Well, at least you had that mat in the car to catch most(?) of the mess, but still. One time, I had a crock pot of chili tip over as I was pulling into the parking lot at work. Honestly…I’d made it all the way across town and around several other corner-turns LOL Thankfully, the floor mat caught most of that mess…but my car smelled like chili for a long time (but it was winter, so it wasn’t a crisis).

  12. So, with detergent and water spilled, did your car clean itself? 😉 I think Amazon Prime has spoiled me with shipping. For vendors that sell through Amazon, shipping costs are real, so it’s understandable they don’t want to absorb them all.

    • Oh no! Was it because of the weather that your detergent and drinks exploded in your car? Less detergent would be a good reason in itself to not do laundry. …lol

I’m with ya, I do get annoyed if I have to pay for return shipping!

      • The drinks was because of the cold weather. I had forgotten I had them there. The detergent was because I grabbed it to take inside and I must have grabbed it wrong. It could have been because of the weather too? Frozen? Who knows. Now it is in two plastic bags. Cannot have another accident.

  13. That hat is cute for the holidays, but you’re going to have to wear you ponytail on top of your head to make it work! And how thick do they think ponytails are? That’s a big hole! LOL

What a bummer about the two messes in the back of your car. One of my friends got a new car a few weeks ago and the next day she spilled a milkshake all over it. It even went in the little holes in the side speaker. She cleaned it up really well, but she’s nervous it will smell like spoiled milk in her new car when it gets warm.

  14. I’m sorry about your car – I know that had to be so frustrating!
My training runs are starting to get longer and I am getting a little nervous about it…it is kind of nice just doing 3 miles here and there!
